What Causes Beard Itch?
Beard itch can be caused by a couple different things. Causes such as cleanliness, grooming, and your overall health can play a factor. The hairs growing through dry skin and external factors such as weather can also play a role.
One thing is certain though. Most of men experience beard itch. The severity can vary but we all get it in one form or the other.
5 Tips to Relieving Beard Itch
Here are our tips to help you fight off beard itch.
Keep it Clean – This may sound like an obvious one but consider how much sense this makes. Throughout the day your hair becomes oily and dirty and so does your beard. Wash your beard using a good anti-itch beard shampoo and a good beard conditioner.
Not to Hot – We all love hot showers but they’re not so great for our beards. To eliminate additional itch wash your beard in lukewarm to cool feeling water. Hot water dries out our skin and can damage your beard hair. A good rule of thumb is to begin the shower hot enough to produce steam but when you wash your beard tone it down a bit.
Cold Rinse – After jumping out of the shower rinse your face with cold water. This will help you remove excess soap and conditioner off and close your pores. Clogged pores are often the culprit that leads to dandruff, irritation, and of course beard itch.
Beard Oil – Keep your beard hydrated with beard oil. I personally have found beard oil to be my holy grail at stopping beard itch. It’ll help keep your beard soft and manageable. Check out Bossman Jelly Beard Oil. Apply your beard oil after getting out of the shower and cold rinsing. It’s also recommended to use a little before going to bed and if you’re in harsh weather you want to reapply sometime mid-day.
Brush It – Pick up a beard comb or brush and use it. It’ll help spread your beard oil in all the much-needed places and get it deeper to reach the skin. Not to mention it’ll give your skin a little scratch to relieve some itch. It also helps keep your beard uniform and looking nice. Brushing will remove dead skin cells, stray hairs, and give you some relief.
Conclusion
I hope you’ve picked up some tips you didn’t know that’ll help you out. Beard itch can be a tough thing to overcome for some guys and some of us fall victim to shaving it off. Then we get the idea to grow a beard again and start over from ground zero. Instead really give it your all and make it through the itch.
